There are lots of ways to make this. Basically boil grain, add something sweet :) Here are a few variations I like:
1. Heat up water, add grain, cook. If you drain and rinse, it will be less sticky. Add sour cream and fresh chopped strawberries or cherries. This is good with pretty much any fresh fruit.
2. As above, cook grain. Add malt sugar and skyr.
3. As above, but with rose petals and honey.
4. Heat up some water, marsala wine, and honey. Add a few dried cherries, a big scoop of butter, and some barley.
Cook. Eat with a cultured dairy product. This was dang good with fresh soft cheese, and would be outstanding with sour cream :)
Note: be much more sparing than you would think with the cherries, I put a handful in, and after re-hydrating, the resulting stuff is mostly cherries. Not bad, but possibly interesting for one's digestion...ummmm, large amounts of dried fruit.....
