This is a really good dinner that took a surprisingly short time to cook. I'm giving the modern cooking directions here, not the fire cooking ones, meh.
"side dish"
I roughly chopped various root vegetables, tossed them in a little fat/oil/butter with some salt and whatever dry herbs were handy. Those were roasted in the oven for about 40 min.
"Stir-fry"
I chopped an apple, and set it aside.
I chopped up some pork into less than 1 inch cubes. Those got tossed with a teeny bit of flour, some salt, and a little garlic (dry, in this case). I put a shallow layer of oil in the pan, and heated it on medium. When the pork cubes were done on one side, I turned them over and added the apple. I turned the heat up to medium-high and stir fried the pork and apples together.

This dish is made of delicious, and passed the hungry-boy test with flying colors. Can't beat crispy bits of apple fried in salty pork fat :)
