Cheap Flights from United States with Skyscanner
http://www.skyscanner.com is a good site that can search way out, in chart form, to find the cheapest fares if you can travel anytime.  It should link you directly to the airlines website so when you purchase your fare you can make changes.
You can even download the app for your phone.

Once you get to Europe, use www.ryanair.com to get around, pretty much anywhere for $100-$200 though don't check a bag or you will pay just about as much for your bag as for your ticket.

So... You buy two tickets for around $300, you get $50 off and you get 30,000 miles which equates to a free $300 ticket! Plus an extra 1800 skymiles and the $50 off the first ticket.

So you've spent $550 and you have three $300 tickets and have saved yourself $350.

So, use it for all of your gas purchases for a year (spend $10,000) and earn $100 off your next ticket.

I would fly delta when fares are within $50 - $100 nearest the next carrier.  You can compare on www.onetravel.com or www.hotwire.com and then book the flight on delta.com as you should get the same rate plus the ability to cancel the flight within the next 24 hours and change the flight at anytime before the day you fly for $150 vs having a non refundable / changeable flight.

A great fare-finder that includes taxes and all fees.  You may want to book directly with the airline through their own website to enable you to change your fare if you need to vs having a non changeable / refundable ticket.

Excellent International Airline with a great fare finder on their website.

Typically the best flight deals to Europe from the U.S. are to London, Dublin, Barcelona, or Madrid. (Typically around $600-650 round trip).

A great place to meet people in any city.
