# Standards-based academics: Students discuss, read, and write about interesting and arguable topics in all subject areas.

# Discovery and exploration in science: Students participate in labs and field trips with opportunities to earn Regents credit. We offer computer science.

# Our world languages program: Students learn Italian or Spanish aimed at earning high school credit. Our dual language program offers participating students a pathway to obtaining the NYS Seal of Biliteracy.

# Learning choices: Students benefit from choices in academics, sports, STEM, and the arts such as music, drama, visual arts, and dance.

# Leadership programs: Beautiful Me, Unleashed, USN Armed Guard Cadets, Junior National Honor Society, LGBTQ, Peer Mediation, and Student Council offer opportunities for leadership, achievement, and service.

# Extra help: Students receive academic help and support from teachers, counselors, administrators and peer tutors.

# Peer mediation: This program fosters positive social interactions, respect, perspective, respect, and understanding

# Community Service: Students get involved in helping others through local, national, and international organizations.

# After School Beacon Program at I.S. 93: Students enrolled in Beacon can sign in each day at 2:30 p.m. right after school and engage in a variety of activities such as homework help, sports, art, science, music, drama, and dance.
