L11 Random Variables

Random Variable is a slight generalization of the idea of a random draw. This is discussed in this lecture.

The probability of an event equals the long run observed frequency of occurence. This is the Law of Large Numbers, which is further discussed in this lecture.

In addition, the rate of convergence -- how fast does the difference between observed frequency and true probability go to zero. This is also part of this lecture.

The notion of p value and that of simulations is introduced qualitatively

The powerpoint attached at the bottom is the slides WITHOUT the recorded sound. Powerpoint inside the BOX HAS embedded sound, a narration for each slide.
