* Psionics - You can read the surface thoughts of others. This can take the form of an Alertness test to detect intent, or you may instead read the target's hidden Aspects as long as they are aware of them. This power is ineffective against artificially created lifeforms like bioroids or AI's.

Spirit of the Viper: Make a ranged attack 1-2 using Psionics: deals Composure stress only, resisted by Resolve. You may also attack a single area but incur a free taggable Aspect 'Psionic Strain' (same as AoE effect+ Out Of Ammo, page 232).

Ceremonial Sword (T-3), Hidden Dagger (T-3), Hold Out Pistol (T2), Calligraphers kit, Castorian Robes, Soft leather boots
Background:
JonQ was born on Castor as Prince Yonque of the Tower of Kathoon. Heir of a long line of priest kings, his birthright was stolen from him by the machinations of his traitorous uncle, Rasque the Treacherous.
Sold into slavery, JonQ eventually found himself off world and in the service of the Az-Hdarchid family of Charon. Purchased for his psionic potential, JonQ was trained in the psychic arts by Illiandra of Llyn-Qartar. He eventually became the majordomo of the Az-Hdarchid family; a prized and powerful position, but a slave is still a slave and he never forgot the grand destiny that had been stolen from him in his youth.
Which is why when 16 year old Lydon Von Az-Hdarchid offered to take him along as he left in his brother's stolen space-yacht, JonQ leapt at the chance. 'Better a free man in rags than a slave in silk' the Castorian saying goes - and JonQ intended to forge a path where he could enjoy both. Plus, young Lydon was headstrong and too willful for his own good, so someone needed to look after the boy, right?
It was the job on Montague where things went bad. True to form, the Montaguans sold them out. JonQ was able to extract himself with his powers, but young Lydon wasn't so lucky. For the first time in his life, JonQ was on his own.
So he adapted. He made contacts, picked up a new partner (Hawking, an obsessed and obsessive scientist/adventurer he rescued from Exodus), set up some jobs. Made a little money, bought some nice things. Spruced up the ship so it was a bit more livable. Two men against the galaxy, always one step ahead of the authorities and on the right side of people it was bad to be on the wrong side of. And when Q-D0X offered him a profitable partnership or prison, he chose to partner up. The bioroid might be an arrogant little shit, but he knows his numbers and he knows what lines not to cross.
Never let it be said that JonQ forgets his debts. When Lydon was finally let out of the pen after five years he found JonQ waiting for him with a bottle full of Charon Victory Gin and a new scheme in motion. Two men against the galaxy is now four - and the odds could not be better.
