This diet is at the very peak of the health pyramid. Nothing else comes close to the demonstrated results.
SAD--Standard American Diet
Promoted by many government entities. This diet is biased due to lobbyist influences.
Atkins--Promoted by Dr. Atkins. He did not realize how high protein tends to shorten lifespan. It appears he died of cardiovascular issues that caused him to fall and hit his head. No autopsy was performed due to family restrictions on information.
Ketogenic Diet--High fat
Designed for extreme athletes to metabolize huge fat stores instead of trying to burn carbohydrates. Some references to adverse effects are available here.

To me it puts the "nail in the coffin" of those proposing any low-carb diets. They obviously have not seen the complete research.
