A question comes up "Why do we need a residents for residents newsletter--Gentle Breeze?"
After reading this webpage, you decide.
The April Breeze had a wish list that was sent up to Management. There were several items missing from the list and items on the list that have better options to solve problems. These were not open for discussion at the recent board meeting. The "open meeting" that was anything but open.
12/29/22 Letter by Renee outlining the incorrect information presented about pets.
She also made a presentation at a PEERA meeting which she was verbally abused by the then chair Carl. Was this entered into the meeting minutes?
Flechelle sent emails to the board(...not a positive response), management(...not a positive response) and George explaining the lack of compassion for 18 residents surrounding the tennis courts about the unacceptable level of noise generated by Pickleball. Since that time many lawsuits have been filed around the country with the results of elimination of pickleball.
Decisions by majority vote ==>"mob rule" vs recognizing the fundamental rights of individuals. Here is an excellent video explaining liberty and rights:
Ken submitted a article for the Breeze explaining the Engineering reason (speech intelligibility) of a one single speaker in the large meeting room. Explaining the details of why multi-speaker systems are not appropriate. The article was not allowed to be published in the Breeze.
Leanne tried to get PEERA to challenge the recent rent increase. Since she was dismissed by the PEERA board, she took it up to a higher level. After circulating a petition, she took the issue to the San Marcos City Council. The City Council must OK increases.
Biased survey sent to entire park vs asking 18 people impacted about a particular sport. The problems with "mob rule" mentality--democracy: where the majority may trample on the rights of individuals and cause harm. Here is a very good video explaining the details and what should be avoided.
"Open" PEERA board meeting that was anything but open. No questions or comments allowed! View here. A previous PEERA chair Jackie objecting== "this is not open."
A clear violation of our Bylaws and "Robert's Rules of Order."
Violation of board membership--Ms Gonzales and Mr. Fenner unit 286. From Bylaws: "With the exception of the offices of Treasurer and Secretary, where two members of the Board occupy the same mobile home unit only one of them may hold an office on the Board at any time. At least one of them must be removed from the board."
Years ago at Palomar Estates East a chair by the name of Bob Bowan realized he was about to be removed from the board by a resident's vote. So instead of waiting for the vote he simply resigned--allowing a more compassionate chair. Bob continued contributing to the community is other more appropriate capacities until he passed away.
If there were only a couple of violations or corrective action forth coming it would be compassionate and understandable. However, the trend is not in a positive direction since just before the start of 2023.
