The ingredients are: (An instructional video of process)
1/4 Cantaloupe cut into small bite size pieces or 1 apple (depending on the seasonality of availability)
3/4 cup tropical fruit salad (pineapple, papaya and pears) by Dole
15 grams roasted slivered almonds
Mix these in a separate bowl
6 strawberries sliced into quarters (use frozen or fresh)
1/4 cup Soy yogurt *
12 grams wheat germ
3.5 grams brewer's yeast
0.5 gram cinnamon
4.5 grams flax seed meal
0.1 grams stevia powder
Mix all ingredients together and enjoy.
Note: You can vary the fruit except for the strawberries and cantaloupe. These provide the highest nutrition and lowest calories of all fruits.
*Soy yogurt recipe for one quart
1 cup of dry soybeans
Enough water to bring soybeans + water to one quart
1 Probiotic capsule
Soak soybeans over night. Then cooked in Instapot for 30 minutes. Let pressure release naturally (30+ minutes to release pressure). Let cooked soybeans cool to room temperature. Blend in high speed blender (VitaMix) till smooth. Then open and add probiotics from capsule and blend gently.
Set in a warm (between 100 and 110 degrees F) oven for at least 20 hours. Ready to use or store in fridge.
Another hint/suggestion: Premix all the dry ingredients.
120 gms Wheat germ
35 gms Brewers' Yeast
5 gms Cinnamon
50 gms Flax Seed Meal
1.2 gms Stevia powder (1/4 tsp)
Combine these and keep in fridge for quick addition (a couple of tablespoons of this mix) to the fruit salad or to any smoothie for a boost in nutrition.
