Above is a picture of the original bridge that was built and finished in August 1902. In 1917 it was razed and replaced with the tunnel that still stands in service today.

Precise location of photo above is not know. Most possible location is Howards bridge at the Caldwell Tunnel during the construction of the tunnel in 1917. Another location includes in front of the old Caldwell Pentecostal Holiness Church bridging Howards Creek.
