Not much information has been found yet dealing with the Seyler sawmill other than at a point in time the C&O encouraged the use of portable steam sawmills, which had begun to make their appearance at White Sulphur Springs, Caldwell, and Ronceverte. This leads me to believe that this was possibly a temporary/portable steam-powered sawmill also knowing that my great grandfather, Cecil Hoke, would ride his bike to North Caldwell from Whitcomb to fire up the boilers.

Showing on the map below is Steve Clendenin's junkyard which occupies the same land today as the sawmill once did.

(If you have any other information about the sawmill or have pictures that you would be comfortable sharing, please feel free to reach out and contact me.).

What is left of the saw mill.

Strongly believed to not be part of the mill once here. Rather it is believed to be what is left of the stock pins that once were in this location

Original railbed parting the property between Snyders and Clendenin. Looking towards North Caldwell depot.
