Rambo’s Cave is on the east side of the river. 2.2 miles north (elevation, 1800 feet). The cave is a wide fissure of limestone cliff, 200 feet above the river. Legend has it that a pioneer named Rambo took refuge there when pursued by Indians. He entered the cave with small fortune of money by descending a rope which the Indians cut. History and legend fail to record this method of leaving the cave. The cave is in a small outcrop of Hillsdale Limestone, Greenbrier series."
