Immigration

by Glenn Robinson

The reason there are few Asian Americans is due to the racist Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882, the Asiatic Barred Zone Act of 1917, the Immigration Restriction Act of 1921 and the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Immigration_Act_of_1924. These laws were not all turned around until the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952.

And there would be more Hispanic, Latino, Mexica Americans if the U.S. didn't have the racist Bracero Program along with it's racist Guest worker programs, both of which are un-welcoming and focus on using the labor of the 'guest' while disrespecting the humanity of the individual and their family situation.
