Trail Repaving Project - Significant trail development to repair and replace failing asphalt was completed on the Normandy Trail. You may have noticed that the stairs and asphalt are gone and have been replaced with a more natural, non-slip gravel trail design.
Traffic Safety Project - The 12 traffic control signs around the neighborhood requesting drivers keep their pace to 25 miles per hour are still up and in great shape. We do have a few left if anyone would like one to display in their front yard.
Tree Removal — Downed trees were removed after winter storms.
Trail Maintenance — In the fall of 2014, the Board decided that it was time to hire some help and phase out the volunteer work parties dedicated to trail clean up for two specific reasons. First, the volunteer basis was pretty small with an average age of over 60 years old. Second, with the ongoing concern about fire danger, we felt that it was imperative to remove more debris than our volunteer group was able to do. Our first experience with extensive help came from the NYC, which did an outstanding job. The result: improved trail experience and reduced fire hazard.
Online Invoices — after an extensive transition to an online bookkeeping system, we now have an online invoice system that provides an alternative for our members to pay their dues electronically. This resulted in automated receipts for members and automatic deposits for the EWPA.
