The upper Brae Burn Trail and bridge work begins Monday, December 2, 2024. The highlighted trail shown in the image will be closed until further notice (approximately three weeks). Thanks for staying off the trail until the work is completed.
As winter approaches, darkness, rain, snow, ice and debris on the sidewalks may be hazardous to pedestrians. As per the City of Eugene's Code 7.375, citizens are responsible for keeping all sidewalks abutted to their homes free and clear of ice, snow, leaves and other things that could cause someone to fall. And let's all remember to check and trim our trees that may have branches hanging over those sidewalks. They will get heavy with rain, snow, and ice and may cause a safety issue.
If you're planning to use your fireplace for some cozy warmth, be sure to check your tree branches up there and trim them to at least 10 feet from your chimney. More fire safety information is here.
Let's all help each other in having a safe and happy Winter in our slice of Paradise here in the Pacific Northwest!
