We weathered the storm and our trail maintenance service has cleared much of the debris from the trails; downed trees will be removed the week of January 21st.
However, there is still work to be done - including the removal of smaller branches and debris.
As promised, the second trail party is scheduled for Saturday, February 10th from 8am-12pm.
(Locations are listed below.)
Trail parties are a great opportunity to meet your neighbors and learn a little bit about native and invasive species.
Due to the storm, the focus of this trail party is to move all smaller branches and debris from the trails to the trailhead for pickup and disposal.
Although the priority is on removing the debris, there are invasive species that are taking over and we will remove as time allows (e.g., small bits of invasive ivy should be removed before it turns into a larger problem).
Want to learn more about the invasive species in our area? Check out our Invasive Species slide show.
Please join us from 8:00-12:00pm to lend a hand and meet your neighbors at any Edgewood West Park Association trailhead with gloves, loppers/clippers, wheel barrow, etc.
