Learning about paleontology

When I started this internship, I did not have a very clear idea about what paleontology was about. On the first few days of the internship, I found myself just sitting in front of a computer, collecting data from books and plugging it into an excel file. I thought that that was all paleontology was, but as a group we began to have discussions and mini classes each morning that really began to draw me a picture of just how broad a field paleontology is.

I have come to really enjoy those classes and I have come to make friends with many of the interns there. I am still not sure about what I want to do for my own research project (and I am really nervous about it), but I am extremely interested in the relationship between oxygen levels and body size evolution, if there is one.
