Beginnings at the Farm

The earth science program is on its 3rd week and the program has been great so far. I was waiting for this great opportunity to come, along with the interns, eager to meet new faces and learn from the professors of Stanford. The first day of the internship was amazing. At first I was scared and exited because I didn't know anyone, but as time passed I felt comfortable with the activities that Jenny provided us. After that day was over I almost had interacted with almost all of the interns. I was exited because I felt that I adapted to their environment and I felt that I was going to learn a lot. During that same day, all of the interns got to meet with their mentor selected by Jenny and went on a tour with our mentors. We got the chance to meet each one of them and they are amazing they knew everything that was asked to them.

Thanks to my mentor Patrick, after this 3 weeks, I have learn a lot of amazing and unbelievable things about our environment and why it's important to care about the environment, and the farm is something that helps the environment, in the farm I have learned many names of different plants and its stories.

In the farm we get to do many amazing activities. For example, we take care of the chickens. Besides learning about the plants, we also get the chance to plant them. We also weed the beds where each type of plants are placed, and we water them.

I am exited to continue with this wonderful program and, also, ready to be working on Patrick's upcoming projects.
