2013 Highlights

We had a year filled with fun celebrations and wonderful visits with friends and family. Click on photos below for more photos.

We had a wonderful winter and spring in Fort Lauderdale. In early March we had our annual Fort Lauderdale party.

Croatia/Italy May 29-June 18, 2013

We had a wonderful trip to Croatia with Fort Lauderdale friends. It was a celebration for our friend Rodney Andreychuk's birthday. He and his partner Richard normally celebrate their birthday decades with a large party but this year he wanted to charter a boat and cruise the Croatia coast. What started out as a rather basic charter with a captain for the 4 of us became a luxurious cruise for 4 couples. We spent a week on a 94 foot sailboat, Aurum, a traditional Turkish sailboat called a gullet exploring some of the almost 1300 islands off the Croatia coast. It had a captain, two crew members, and a chef who was a former culinary instructor.

We spent an additional 3 days in Dubrovnik, (one before boarding the boat and 2 after), probably 2 more than necessary.

After Croatia we spent 3 days in Venice. We stayed in a beautiful restored palace, Ca'Sargredo Hotel.The highlight of Venice was lunch on the terrace of the Hotel Danieli to celebrate Rodney's birthday.

We spent our final two days in Belagio on Lake Como before returning to Highlands. Even in the haze at the time it was beautiful.

We had visits by many friends.
