One of the highlights of our year was the birth of our grandson Sterling Maverick Clarke on April 21 to our daughter Sarah and her husband Shaun. At 8 months old he is wearing 1-year-old clothes. It might have something to do with the 6-feet 3-inches of his fathers' height. Shaun is a professor in Visual and Media Arts at Emerson in Boston and Sarah is working in video marketing at Overseas Adventure Travel. All are doing great.

Patrick had a great year also. He was promoted to assistant branch manager at Verizon Wireless in Ruston, LA. He was able to join us in Highlands in April for a great visit including croquet and hiking.

- Four visits to check on our grandson Sterling in Boston.
- A July visit to Dean's dad and stepmother in Charleton, MS.
- A fun visit from Margaret Took and Glenn Morris in Fort Lauderdale in February.
- Several visits from many friends in Highlands including:
- Our Possa family - Joe, Chad, and Annie in June
- Dean's sister Beth, husband Tom, and daughter Camille in July
- Our friends Kevin Naylor, Marti Smye, and Lisa Madden to celebrate Cheryl Millar's birthday in July
- We spent Thanksgiving in Boston celebrating with our Boston family. Sarah, Shaun, and Sterling hosted a meal for 12.
