Spring has sprung, full of new excitement and events! Musical Hour at the Freehold Music Center, with a lovely presentation by Alan Wassermann on Chopin's music, saw a huge audience and a lively atmosphere. Congratulations! It was delightful to see so much interest in the program!
A Reminder: Our End-of-year Meeting is scheduled for June 27, 2 pm, at Barbara Lerro's home in Freehold. We are looking forward to hosting a performance by members during this meeting, particularly celebrating the masters of Romanticism being commemorated in these years: Mendelsohn (2009), Chopin & Schumann (2010), and Liszt (2011). You are invited to bring and play your favorite pieces by these great musicians, though please do not feel limited to these four: we look forward to hearing a variety of piano duets and solos during the afternoon!
And finally, I am thrilled to announce that the Freehold Music Center will be sponsoring the Monster Concert with its beautiful instruments once again in 2011! You have shown so much support and energy this year in keeping the Monster Concert alive, and your hard work has paid off. Bravo! At the next Duet-Playing at Beth's (Friday, May 7, 10am), we will dive right in to begin picking duets for next year's program. Bring your favorites!
