These are in the brown file folder on the table below the class phone. Look for the folder labeled "Cohort B"
Ask student to access the meet link (meet.google.com/noy-otco-igj ) which is on their "Science Plan" document. The link is in the far left column.
Please use this link and connect to the google meet on the scree at the front of the room.
Ask students to leave their mic off and turn their volume down. The speakers at the front of the room will broadcast sound.
Ask students to access their HAPRA Workspace for today's date.
I will explain how their "Jigsaw" activity will flow. (See the documents "PART 1 -Learning Terms" and "PART 2 - Consolidation" attached on the workspace or on the Science Plan Document for today)
Students will need roughly 20 minutes to complete their vocabulary lists(A copy of the group lists are in the "Cohort B" folder)
There are textbooks in the middle cupboards at the back of the room. Students can use these and return to the cupboards after for isolation.
Give students a final 5 minutes to confer with the others in their "Vocabulary Group" to ensure that EACH student has a full understanding of ALL of the terms on their list. They need to be experts on this entire list.
Tell students that they will now import their portion of the list to the VERY BOTTOM of the "PART 2" document. **Important. Do NOT try to put this into the existing table. That is for evaluation**
Using this document, they will collectively write a story about ANY organism(rabbit, beaver, bear, ant, flower, tree, etc) living in ANY ecosystem. Their goal is to use the terms in suc a way that their meaning is obvious. Up to 3 marks will be awarded for the correct use of each of 15 terms. (Ideally 3 terms from each of the 5 lists)
Tell the students that they can finish any writing at home before submitting in class on Wednesday. They are encouraged to each contribute and then decide on an appropriate time (eg. Tuesday after noon) for EACH student to proof read the entire story and leave comments for their group members. Then(Tuesday by 2:00), they can each make any necessary alterations to the final story!
Please give students a few minutes to make these arrangements
Students can use the "Populations" slide show (with screencast) to complete the note in their booklets
Students are to complete one of these two activities as follow up to the note on Populations and Carrying Capacity
Ecosystems Handbook Activity (on Gizmo page) if not already complete
FOOD CHAINS GIZMO - Quiz for this should already be done
Bay of Quinte Assignment from last week - We will take this up on Wednesday
