LESSON PLANS FOR SEAN CLARK – OVEMBER 12 & 13, 2015
Mr. Moss -
Class Policies – Washroom breaks are done BEFORE class. For this reason, I allow period 2 and 4 an extra couple of minutes to get to class. Anyone needing a break during class is asked to leave their phone on the desk so you can track that there is already a student out of class!
Please use the sheets in supply binder to indicate problem or helpful students
Period 1 – 8:05 – 9:30 Prep period. Please report to main office for supervision duties
Period 2 – 9:35 – 10:50 Grade 10 Science - Room 209
Reliable Students are Joshua Plourde and Kevin Sernoskie
THURSDAY -
1 - CELL DRAWINGS - Students will need time to complete their cell drawings of the stages of Mitosis. The cart with Microscopes is in the back prep room. Paper is in the cupboard beside the door to the prep-room on the left hand side. Tell students to complete their drawings and I will collect these on Monday!
2 - CASE STUDIES - Students can work in groups on their case studies. All documents required for this are posted to the class site and have been handed out in class.
While working, each group should select who will be the "technician" who will be working with other technicians on Monday.
Students may use textbook or internet resources to answer the case study questions and begin gathering other required information for their final presentation. They do not need to be working on their presentation - rough work only right now. But they should be trying to familiarize themselves with the key terms and organs. They are reminded to use their textbooks and notes on our class website as a guide for the depth of material they are required to know and communicate to the class. Do not go much deeper than this unless there is a specific reason based on their case study.
FRIDAY -Students can continue to work in groups quietly or (if you sense that less work is getting done or if they need a bit of a break) they can watch the movie (The Body Machine) which is in the folder of "Biology videos" in the middle of the desktop on the computer in the classroom under the smartboard. The speakers sometimes get unplugged. Look for the green plug and put it into the port on the front of the computer near the bottom
Period 3 – 11:35 – 12:50 Grade 10 Science - Room 209
Reliable Students are Halina Golka and Aedan McDnald
1 – Same as period 2
THURSDAY - Period 3 students will need the Handout (Observing Mitosis) Enclosed
Period 4 – 12:55 – 2:10 Grade 9 Science Academic – 208
Reliable Students are Nolan Doherty and Hannah Harrington
THURSDAY
TIME: 1 hr
TOPIC: Current electricity and circuit diagrams
LEARNING GOAL:
Students will understand the different components of currently electricity (ex: electric potential) and how we can measure can measure it (ex: voltmeter)
Students will be able to describe and design simple circuit diagrams for both parallel and series circuits.
LESSON/MEDIA:
(~35 Minutes) PowerPoint 2.2 Current Electricity note on current electricity and introduction to circuits, potential, current series and parallel circuits

10.9 Electric Current
FRIDAY
1 - Students are to complete the quiz on Electrostatics.
2 - Students can use the time to finish the worksheet from yesterday on Drawing circuits.
3 - Students can use the chromebooks to access the GIZMO "Circuits" from www.explorelearning.com. This will let them assemble their circuits as they draw them.
The class code is on the paper on the side cupboard for students who have forgotten their passwords and need to create another.
