LESSON PLANS FOR SEAN CLARK – SEPT 17, 2015
Job # - 701437 - Museum of Nature Trip -
Class Policies – Washroom breaks are done BEFORE class. For this reason, I allow period 2 and 4 an extra couple of minutes to get to class. Anyone needing a break during class is asked to leave their phone on the desk so you can track that there is already a student out of class!
Period 3 – 11:35 – 12:50 Grade 12 Exercise Science - Room 208
Period 4 – 12:55 – 2:10 Grade 9 Science Academic – 208
Reliable Students are Nolan Doherty and Hannah Harrington
TIME: 15 minutes
TOPIC: Timeline Assignment Instructions
LEARNING GOAL: By the end of this lesson, students will understand how to construct a SCALE timeline
LESSON/MEDIA:
Students are directed to page 82-85 of Science 9 which will provide them with the basic information they will need.
Students are shown an example of a "Scale" timeline in the class, highlighting that events are not evenly spaced, but that each amount of time represented on the timeline is given an equal amount of space.
For each step along the timeline:
1. What time period did it take place in?
2. What changes were made to the previous model of matter?
3. What discoveries/experiments were made that lead to this change?
4. Who was responsible for these discoveries?
5. Provide a diagram if applicable.
There is an option to use www.prezi.com to help organize your ideas and present the timeline. This will allow "shrinking" of text in some time periods so that all information can fit!
