TOPIC: Applications of Electricity
LEARNING GOAL:
By the end of these lessons, students will be able to:
- Describe how electricity is produced from a variety of sources(not req'd in 2013 with group research projects)
- Determine the electricity used and the cost of this electricity in their own homes
- Suggest ways of modifying their own energy use and predict the impact that these changes would have on their home energy bills.
LESSON/MEDIA:
Students are on their second day of working with various electricity problems. There are three worksheets for them to complete using the website and sheets in their workbooks.
Students may work through any of the three projects in whichever order they choose, using information presented in the video or the webpage for "Energy Sources" and information from their own home for the other two worksheets. Ideally, students should complete the "Cost of Electricity Problem" worksheet today(#2 below).
