Class Policies – Washroom breaks are done BEFORE class. For this reason, I allow period 2 and 4 an extra couple of minutes to get to class. Anyone needing a break during class is asked to leave their phone on the desk so you can track that there is already a student out of class!

1) Reactions and Equations Quiz. Students will complete the quiz. As they are finished, they can work quietly on Correcting Practice work on types of reactions and balancing equations. Students can work with a partner to compare answers or check with answer keys on the bulletin board at the side of the class
2) Acids and Bases Note
LEARNING GOAL
By the end of this lesson, students will be able to identify the physical and chemical properties of acidic and basic substances. Students will be able to describe how acids and bases respond in different indicators.

TOPIC:The modern Periodic table
TIME: 35 minutes
LEARNING GOAL: By the end of this lesson, students will understand the difference between rows and columns on the periodic table. Students will understand how patters in electron arrangements are visible from the periodic table

Students will read Section 4.3 and answer questions throughout activity, not those at the end

Students can complete work on this assignment and hand it in at the end of class.
