Cheverly Day Photo Contest Rules

Eligibility.

Everyone is eligible to enter the photo contest with the exception of the contest judges.

Each entrant may submit up to 3 photographs.

There is no entry fee.

Your photos must not have been entered previously in any contest.

Subjects.

Photos must be taken within the boundaries of the Town of Cheverly.

Photos must be taken under natural conditions, and must not be retouched, altered, or otherwise manipulated.

Format.

Either color or black and white photos may be entered.

Maximum photo size is 8” x 10”.

Photos must be unframed. All photos will be placed in a standard 8” x 10” black frame by the committee.

Submitting your photos.

Bring your photos to the town office between Monday, May 15th and 5 PM, Wednesday, May 17th.

Attach a 3 x 5 card to the back of each photo showing

  • Your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address

  • Information about the subject of your photo. Where was it taken (name of park, street, or other place)? On what date was it taken?

In addition, send electronic copies of your photos in jpg (jpeg) format along with a cover document to sheila.salo@gmail.com. The document should include the same information as on the 3 x 5 card. An album of the contest photos will be posted on www.greencheverly.org after Cheverly Day.

Judging will take place Thursday, May 18th, at 5 PM.

Photos will be judged on composition, technical excellence, and subject: Cheverly's streams, springs, and wetlands -- and all that lives in, on, and near them.

Prizes will be awarded in both black & white and color photo categories. A Best in Show prize will also be awarded.

By entering the contest you affirm that your entries are entirely your own work.
