City of Sunnyvale Trash & recycling
Sunnyvale has an app that allows you to view your garbage and recycling schedule, report problems, schedule bulky item pick-ups, receive collection reminders and more. Search for "Sunnyvale Recycles Right" in the iPhone App Store or Google Play.
Back during the early days of the pandemic, the Specialty Solid Waste & Recycling department suspended the requirement that a prepaid Extra Garbage Tag be attached to any of the extra garbage bag(s) you placed out next to your trash can on collection day. That suspension has been rescinded, and you will once again need to attach one of these tags to each of your extra trash bag(s) going forward. These tags are sold at supermarkets, City Hall Annex, Community Center and the SMaRT Station. Go to Sunnyvale.ca.gov and search "Extra Garbage" to find locations to purchase them or call 408-565-9900.
