The Divine Mirror, which is said to be like a magic mirror in Heaven. All spirits returning to Heaven can review their lives by looking at it.

"Khi chúng ta bước vào Tòa Tam Giáo Bát Quái Đài rồi thì chúng ta thấy hào quang chiếu diệu xông lên rồi biến mất, kế thấy một cây Cân công bình hiện ra trước mắt, rồi cũng biến mất. Chúng ta thấy mình chẳng khác nào như khán giả đứng trước đài kia, coi lại cả kiếp sanh của chúng ta, diễn tiến trước mắt chúng ta, không có điều gì sót. Khi trước chúng ta làm những việc gì thì giờ đây nó chiếu y lại như xem hát bóng vậy. Nơi đó, kinh Phật gọi là Minh Cảnh Đài.
Mỗi hành động của chúng ta trong kiếp sanh đều hiện rõ ra, ngó thấy trước mặt, và cây Cân công bình để cân tội phước, nên hư, quyết đoán một cách công bình, không sai chút nào hết. Đó là sự huyền bí của Đài thiêng liêng ấy."

It is believed to be where Buddhas reign. Lotus is considered the symbol of purity in Asia because it has a sweet smell despite its dirty swampy habitat. That is why all Buddhas statues are put on a large lotus.

This is an organization established for teenage and young Caodaist believers. The founders were Engineer Nguyễn Ngọc Hòa and Mr Hạ Chí Khiêm. The organization are allowed by both the Government of the Republic of Vietnam and the Caodaist Canonical Council in 1965. Its activities and operation are the same as Boy Scouts. After 1975, like other Caodaist organizations it was banned by the Communist Government.

A Caodaist rite, where Caodaists took an oath of fraternity to become sworn brothers. They then officially became disciples of Phạm Môn (organized by Hộ Pháp). This rite is modeled after the ancient Chinese story Oath of the Peach Garden (among Liu Bei, Guan Yu and Zhang Fei).
Before the rite, each believer had to follow a procedure called "cân thần" (See: Cân thần).

This is a term with a variety of meanings, depending on what religion or school of philosophy people practice.
First, Đạo is a religion, according to Caodaism.

Đức Chí Tôn dạy: "Đạo là gì? Sao gọi là Đạo? Đạo là con đường để cho Thánh, Tiên, Phật đọa trần do theo mà hồi cựu vị. Đạo là đường của các nhơn phẩm do theo mà lánh khỏi luân hồi. Nếu chẳng phải do theo Đạo thì các bậc ấy đều lạc bước mà mất hết ngôi phẩm. Đạo nghĩa lý rất sâu xa, nhưng phải hiểu trước bao nhiêu đó, rồi mới học các nghĩa huyền bí khác cho đích xác đặng." God's message: "What is Đạo? Why Đạo? Đạo is the path for the Saints, Immortals and Buddhas, who are exiled from Heaven to the earth, to return to their formerly heavenly status. Đạo is the path for humans to escape the cycle of birth and death. Without Đạo, they will get lost and lose their heavenly positions. Đạo has many deep philosophical meanings, but you need to learn about that first before other mysterious meanings."

" Earthly desires are evil schemes that hinder you from practicing religion. Like I (God) said, I have let a lot of predators live around you. I always induce them to eat you raw, but I have given you an invisible suit of armor, which is your ethics. Therefore, try to keep it until you return to me. Thus, ethics is as useful as a suit of armor in protecting your body. Without armor you will be in danger; without ethics you will be dominated by evil power."

Đạo Đức School & Lê Văn Trung School.
Đạo Đức School was established by the Tây Ninh Sacerdotal Council in 1928 to provide free education for dignitaries and followers' children. In 1941, the French government imprisoned Hộ Pháp and ceased all Caodaist offices, so Đạo Đức School stopped its operation. In 1946, Hộ Pháp was released and the school resumed. In April 1978, all Caodaist organizations were closed by the Vietnamese Communist Government and the school was taken over again. Now (2015) it becomes Lý tự Trọng School.
Lê Văn Trung School was established in 1950 and named after Quyền Giáo Tông Lê Văn Trung to commemorate him. Like Đạo Đức School, it was taken over by the Communist Government in 1978 and now (2015) is Lê Quí Đôn School.

Tao Te Ching, Daojeing or Dao De Jing, is a Chinese classic text, which is said to have been written by Laozi or Laotzu, a record keeper at the Zhou Dynasty Court. The text is the foundation for both philosophical and religious Taoism, which is one of the great religions in Caodaism.

Caodaist Flag.
Caodaist Flag, also called Cờ Tam Thanh (Three-Color Flag), has three colors: yellow, azure and red. They are said to represent Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism respectively. The phrase The Great Religion in the Third Amnesty (in Chinese) is put on the yellow part. The Divine Eye and the three religious symbols (the Begging Bowl, the Fly Whisk and the Spring and Autumn Annals) are on the azure part.

3. In 1938 the ninth decree were signed by His Holiness Lý Giáo Tông and His Holiness Phạm Hộ Pháp to establish the Philanthropic Body.

Like I said, whenever I descend to a seance, millions of Angels, Saints, Immortals or Buddhas follow and assist. If seeing that with naked eyes, you disciples would be extremely frightened. Since you cannot see it, you are not much accused of impoliteness. Impoliteness is considered a serious sin, so I have to leave so that you will not be punished.

The world has been considered where wicked people go after death to be punished or even tortured eternally by most religions known.
Caodaism, however, depicts it a bit diversely. First, it is called Âm Quang (Yin Light), where sinners meditate and remorse so that they can be pardoned and continue their cycles of reincarnation. The Seventh Female Buddha and other deities are in charge of their education. How long they stay in Âm Quang depends on how awakened they become. Second, in the Third Amnesty, Hell is closed and the released spirits either go to higher heavens or return to their cycles of birth and death in order to pay off all debts.

Địa Tạng Vương Bồ Tát
Chinese: 地藏王菩薩
Ksitigarbha (Sanskrit: क्षितिगर्भ, English: Earth Treasury, Earth Store, Earth Matrix, or Earth Womb) is a bodhisattva revered in East Asian Buddhism. Ksitigarbha is known for his vow not to achieve Buddhahood until all hells are emptied. Therefore, he is often considered the bodhisattva of hell-beings, as well as the guardian of children and patron deity of deceased children and aborted fetuses in Japanese culture.
According to Caodaism, he is ordained as U Minh Giáo Chủ (Religious Chief of Hell) responsible for the instruction of Hell sinners.

"Ngày Hội Ngọc Hư lo tiếp pháp của Tây Phương Cực Lạc, Em đặng nghe thấy những lời của Đức Địa Tạng Vương Bồ Tát than thở rằng: Ngài là Phật, nên khó gần gũi các hồn nữ phái mà khuyến giáo cơ giải thoát mê đồ. Bởi cớ nơi Âm Quang, nữ hồn còn bị luyện tội nhiều hơn nam phái bội phần.

Em mới để dạ lo lường, cả lòng lân ái đến đó, Em đã chán thấy nhiều tội tình chẳng trọng hệ, song có hồn chịu sầu thảm lạ thường. Em đã liệu nhiều phương thế cho từ đây, mấy chơn hồn có bề dễ tránh khỏi cửa Âm Quang hãm tội."

"My sisters, let me bring this to your notice. In a convention in Ngọc Hư Cung on the reception of Cực Lạc Thế Giới (the Land of Ultimate Bliss) dharma, I heard Địa Tạng Vương Bồ Tát (Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva) complain that he hardly had access to female spirits to educate them because of his unfavorable position of a Buddha. In Âm Quang, more female spirits are punished than male. He wished to have a female Immortal responsible and devoted enough there to help liberate them all from Phong Đô (Hell). I have considered this and gone there. I witness some spirits too miserable to bear in spite of their minor sins. I have taken a lot of steps so that the coming spirits can avoid punishment from Âm Quang."

Đoàn Thị Điểm (1705-1748)
A famous Vietnamese poetess, whose poetry is considered the model in ancient Vietnamese literature. Her most famous work is Chinh Phụ Ngâm, translated into French as "Les Plaintes d'une Chinh phụ." and published in Paris, 1939.
She is said to have given a great number of Caodaist scriptures through seances and the most important work is Nữ Trung Tùng Phận (Righteous Women's Responsibilities), which educates women in the Third Amnesty.

Named by His Holiness Hộ Pháp, this bridge spans Suối Đoạn Trần (Seclusion Spring), a small stream in front of Trí Huệ Cung (Enlightenment House).
All religious landmarks around Trí Huệ Cung symbolize the path a religious person has to take to return to Heaven. First, he has a bath in Ao Thất Bửu (Seven-Gem Pond) to wash off his worldly desires. Then he crosses the Seclusion Bridge. That means he gives up all worldly pleasures and is ready to retreat to the Enlightenment House, where he practices esotericism to attain the religious goal. Having achieved the state of enlightenment, he enters the Eternal Heavenly World.

Being exiled, being expatriated.
The French government in Vietnam in the 1920s was always frightened by Vietnamese insurgents, so they kept an eye on Caodaism, considering it a disguised rebel forces. At last, they decided to suppress the new religion.
On June 28th 1941 Hộ Pháp and some senior dignitaries were arrested and exiled to Madagascar.
It is said that Hộ Pháp still communicated with gods and knew that he would be released later.
On August 22nd 1946, Hộ Pháp and other dignitaries were released. However, two dignitaries, Giáo Sư Thái Gấm Thanh và Sĩ Tải Đỗ Quang Hiển, had died in prison.
Hộ Pháp returned to Tây Ninh Temple and resumed leading Caodaism.

Dongfang Shuo (ca. 160 BCE – ca. 93 BCE) was a Han Dynasty scholar-official, fangshi ("master of esoterica"), author, and court jester to Emperor Wu (r. 141 – 87 BCE). In Chinese mythology, Dongfang is considered a Daoist xian ("transcendent; immortal") and the spirit of Venus who incarnated as a series of ancient ministers including Laozi.
In Caodaist Temple of God the Mother, his statue is located on the altar. This recalls a Chinese myth, in which Dongfang Shuo helped Emperor Wu meet God the Mother.
