The BCC AGM was held on 1st Feb and had an optimistic outlook despite the miserable weather. Highlight of the evening was Gary Sizmur stepping up to take on 1st team skipper with Mark Butler making sure that his game plans are not lost to the team by moving into the vice-captain berth.

Stalwart 2nd team captain, Lee Jutson agreed to give it another year with Tim Shaw in the co-pilots seat.

It was also agreed that we would try to secure indoor nets well ahead of the season and general recognition of the need for a recruitment drive given some players moving out of the area. Many intend to still make Saturdays however pitch preparation will need to be more of a focus for more players this year. There are a couple of new signings to bolster the numbers and all the committee posts are filled.

With some uncertainty about the mid-week Tamar league, there are still some details to iron out although it was agreed that should the league go ahead, Bridestowe would once again, go it alone independently of MPL who were thanked for a productive partnership over the last few seasons.

Kids training will be on again this year and Alex Jopling will once again be applying his professional skills and immeasurable patience with the little darlings assisted by Gideon and Jo Pritchard as well as the usual suspects when they are home.

Club kit is being investigated and details will come out soon.

With Nat West Cricket Force on its way and indoor nets to be finalised, it is time to try to forget the misery of a wet winter and look forward to the glorious sunshine of early May......
