May 7-8, 2012 - Disneyland

It's about time, we hadn't been in over 5 months! This was Kara's first trip to Disneyland at 7 weeks old. Bret was working and unable to go, but I met my parents there, and my sister Jen with her 3 kids. My girls were really awesome those two days, plus the car rides. Which was good because right before the trip I kept thinking I was crazy for trying to do it. Kara did amazing and although she didn't pay much attention to the surroundings of Disneyland, I think she liked being carried in the front-pack. She must have felt like I was carrying her all day long. On Tuesday we got to the park around 10 am and she slept until around 2 pm. She probably would have kept sleeping but we had just eaten lunch and I thought it would be a good time to feed her too. So she had about a 30 minutes break from the front-pack and then I loaded her back up and she went back to sleep. She slept the rest of the day, only making a few sounds and then her thumb found its way into her mouth. She didn't really wake up and start crying until just after 9 pm so I was able to make it back to the hotel to feed her. The only down side to having her in the front-pack all day long is that my back and shoulders were killing me by the end of the night. On Monday my friend Shelley that lives in the area met up with us. It was so fun to catch up with her and she was a big help with the kids too. For some reason two days didn't seem like enough this time. We did spend some time doing some research for Kristen's upcoming school project, but there was still more we wanted to do. We had gone into the Opera House learning about Disneyland's beginning and the kids all wanted to go in to see Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln. Not that they really knew what it was, but it was a show and the theater was nice and cold. They did pretty good and didn't seem like they were being tortured like when I was forced to go as a kid. Four kids has definitely slowed me down and I didn't take many pictures, but there is at least one of every girl.
