We got home from California on July 8th because we were going to the Beach Boys concert that night. It was awesome! Phoenix was their 50th concert for their 50th anniversary tour. They even played 50 songs that night. Don't know where they get all that energy. So glad we went! Kara turned 4 months and is still the best baby. Aunt Jen gave us her baby swing and Kara loves it. (I think because it provides more protection for her than lying on the floor.) We've had several eagle courts of honor to go to since more of Bret's scouts recently turned 18, funny how that works. The stake puts on a pioneer day celebration and apparently somebody thinks it's a good idea to do a parade in July, in Arizona. Although the heat wasn't the worst thing this year, it was a dust storm. We could see it in the distance, and it was moving rapidly. And we started parade right in the middle of it. We (me and the girls) made it inside the building to eat dinner while Bret stayed outside to help serve the people outside. Once the sun went down it wasn't as miserable outside, but by that time it was already after 8 pm and I was done. I am thankful I wasn't a pioneer crossing the plains! We also had the chance to go to a Diamondbacks game with a couple of Bret's co-workers in the pwc suite. It was a great way to watch the game. Most of the ladies just stayed inside where it was a bit cooler and talked. Kara never cried the whole night and just smiled at everybody, even all the people on the light rail. The Diamondbacks even won, which made it fun for the people who were actually watching the game.
