Rockwell

Rockwell made topnotch calculators, but never made a big name for itself. Maybe it had something to do with the funny keys that were hinged at their bottoms instead of pressing straight down. Or maybe it was that their plastic casing didn't seem to hold the metal keyboard frame quite solidly enough. Still, they were well built and highly functional.

Rockwell 63R

The R stood for "rule" as in "slide rule".

Look Ma! Parentheses! Sweet.

The leatherette case is internally reinforced with cardboard and has a sleeve for the manual.

This was my Dad's first calculator and is in great cosmetic and working condition.

Rockwell 51R aka Universal Converter

This calculator specialized in performing all manner of useful conversions.

It's in good cosmetic condition but unfortunately doesn't power up.

Rockwell 30R

Just a mite better than a 4-banger, elegant and simple.

This unit works fine.

Rockwell 8R

They don't get much cleaner than this.

This unit works fine, but there is a crack in the plastic of the display area.

Rockwell '76

The bicentennial was a BIG deal and everybody wanted to cash in on it.

Rockwell added a dash of red-white-and-blue to a calculator, and gave it a commemorative number and patriotic box! An all-American calculator.

This unit is in great condition and works fine.

Rockwell 24RD

Rather than devote a digit to a negative sign, Rockwell opted here to use an led in the upper right corner. The led next to it indicates that the memory is in use.
