M51, the whirlpool galaxy, is a grand design spiral galaxy interacting with a smaller galaxy (NGC 5195). As a result of this interaction, several tidal plumes were formed, which can be seen in this image. Higher resolution image here

LRGB data on April/26/2025, from a rural site with a Bortle 3 sky, Dehesa Boyal Los Yebenes (Spain).
H alpha data on April/23-24-28/2025 from my bacyard observatory in Pozuelo de Alarcon (Spain) with a Bortle 8 sky.
Equipment: Losmandy G11 mount. Takahaxhi FSQ106N scope. Omegon veTec 571 camera. Baader L, R, G and B filters. QHY off axis guider with ASI120M guide camera.
LRGB Images: multiple subexposures of 180 seconds were obtained, 49 through L filter, 23 R, 23G and 23 B. Five hours and 54 minutes in total.
H alpha images: 1185 subexposures of 300 seconds were obtained, totalling 19 hours and 45 minutes.
Tolat exposure: 25 hours and 39 minutes.
Software: NINA, PHD2 guiding, and PixInsight with scripts (Blur XTerminator, NoiseXTerminator, StarXTerminator, Photometric Continuum Subtraction).
