The north-western region of Cygnus is rich in emission nebulae because of ionized hydrogen clouds in the Milky Way. Dark nebulae are also prominent because of dust in the galactic plane. The bright blue giant star Deneb shines near the upper border of the image with a bluish tint. In the left upper corner, the North America and Pelican nebulae can be seen. On the lower right quadrant, brilliant star Sadr shines surrounded by emission nebula IC1318. Many other bright and dark nebulae can be seen in this picture, including the "Propeller" nebula in the right upper quadrant of the image and the Crescemt nebula near the lower right corner.

Technical data:

Observatory of Pozuelo de Alarcon. ASA DDM85 equatorial mount, unguided exposures. A Nikkor ED 180 mm lens was employed with a SBIG STL11000 CCD camera.

Multiple exposures were obtained through different filters: Hydrogen Alpha (15 min each), Red (5 min each), Green (5 min each) and Blue (5 min each). Total accumulated exposure of 21,7 hours: 12 h H alpha, 2,5 h Red, 3,2 h Green, 4 h Blue. The lens diaphragm was set at f:2,8 for H alpha exposures and closed to f:5,6 for Red, Green and Blue exposures.

Image processing in PixInsight, final touches in Photoshop.
