Leo Trio

The Leo trio is a group of three interacting galaxies: M65 (upper right in the above image), M66 (below M65) and NGC3628 (left). The three galaxies show a distorted structure due to previous gravitational interactions, particularly NGC3628 which shows a long tidal tail (below the galaxy in the image). Images obtained on April 11th 2024 from Hortezuela de Ocen, Spain.

Equipment: Takahashi FSQ106N scope. Omegon veTEC 571 camera with a QHYFW2 filter wheel and Baader RGB filters. Losmandy G11 mount with a FS2 controller. Guided with a 135mm lens and a QHY183M camera.

Imaging software: Sequence Generator Pro and PHD2 Guiding.

Image data: multiple subexposures of 3 minutes each through each filter (19 Red, 17 Green and 18 Blue)
