Svetlana Barsukova and Kungur babyhome staff have received our Christmas present: a Cookbook. Every child of our group, adopted in Kungur, selected and produced a recipe for this book. (67 children!)

Our Christmas present has arrived at the Baby Home: A mobile done with 55 post-cards sent by 55 families from around the world who have adopted in Kungur Baby home! 63 children from Kungur are represented in this mobile!

We are grateful for your sensitivity to the problems of our children left without parental love, for your help and your kindness .
Helping us you give us material values, but not only. You give also joy and hope to children deprived of attention, affection of parents and just orphans.
The purchase of minibuse foster emotional and psychological development of our children. They will be able to go more often to the theater, circus, concerts and shows ....

Here is the extract of a letter which Svetlana Barsukova sent us, about the plan of the bus...
(…) To have a minibus would give us a lot of possibilities to help for adaptation and socialization of the baby home children.
All the events(here or in Perm), would become accessible for our children.
All the excursions, language classes, the puppet traveling shows, the carousels, would be at our disposal.
Our sponsors in Perm are ready to offer some shows to us, but we have still this transport problem.
The museum, as well as the circus, that come to Kungur, make gestures of beneficence. We could go with the children, free, but we don’t have transport.
In the Baby home, there are children who has never felt joy in their life and for them, to go out of baby home is happiness. There are children who grow up here. So that the child isn't isolated from the society and grows well, and so that he is prepared to fit more easily into the society, also so that the procedure of adoption is easier… For all these reasons, this project is essential for us.
A huge thank you for your big initiative for us.

Here is an article written by Youri Vaguin (doctor psychotherapist, manager of a center of psychology in Perm, and spokesperson of our association), after his last visit at Kungur Baby Home.
Glory to the caregiver or «still wash me»!
Because of the hardening of the legislation on adoption of children by foreigners, children in orphanages are now waiting for the implementation of the judgment of adoption, not 7-10 days like before, but a month. Most foreigners can not stay so long in Russia and are forced to wait out this period in their home country. Psychologically this is difficult for the children.Children may feel they have been abandoned. They do not understand that time "a month," and 30 days is a huge number for them. They can not grasp and often fall into depression.
The problem was solved by a Russian caregiver!
Children in orphanages take a bath twice a week. A compassionate caregiver taught the children to count the time of separation with "baths". "Take your bath eight times, my boy and mom comes looking for you." And the children began to understand. Eight times - there are still two fingers in reserve. That is good. We can survive "eight baths."
The director of the orphanage, who told me this was very proud of her caregiver and very happy for the children.
