The Club’s aim is to encourage the development of young swimmers in the Ashbourne district, giving them a competence at a sport that will last them a lifetime. The club is affiliated to the East Midlands region of the Amateur Swimming Association and trains at Ashbourne Leisure Centre.

The club encourages excellence in swimming at all standards through its training programmes, by participating in a number of swimming galas at differing levels and by hosting annually its own Club Championships.

The Shark and Dolphin Squads are aimed at younger swimmers, typically 7 to 9 years old. After reaching the required standard, swimmers are invited to train with the Swim Skills. Swimmers typically train between twice and four times a week dependent upon age and ability. Currently 5 hours of pool time is for the sole use of the club each week.See TRAINING

The teaching programme is open to all children and the club is open to anybody meeting the required standard. Regular try out sessions are held for potential new members. We provide full swim coaching to all members of the club.

The Club provides not only an opportunity to excel and gain a great outside interest but also the social benefits of being part of a club and team. We hold an annual disco and presentation evening amongst other events.
