Rest Day, Homer Ya Comin??

Today, May 1st, was a rest day spent in Salem, Virginia. My feet and left ankle needed a break from the trail, and today, Sunday, seemed like the perfect day, especially since it was also raining hard. Mark and I lounged around the hotel, caught up on news from back home, and arranged a shuttle to the AT, mile 694, for tomorrow from a guy named Homer. Since calling him, he has called me back 3 times and now just sent me a text asking again where he should pick us up. I wanted to ask him if his last name is Simpson! Hopefully he'll show up tomorrow as planned.

The rest day has been good- feet and ankle feel better and ready to go!

Still at mile 694, averaging just over 15 miles per day.
