2010-July-10:

"Waterfire Providence" is a new 'reflective' design that I will be putting on T-shirts. In this thumbnail image, you can see that the two-piece letter "W" and the letter "a" are reflected in the water to make "PRO". I had to use my artistic license on some of the letter shapes so it wouldn't look like I misspelled either "Waterfire" or "Providence," but overall I am quite satisfied with the results. I have yet to decide what color the shirts will be, and what size the image will be. I had sketched the lettering in September 2009, and finally got around to computerizing the drawing over the past month. I formatted two sizes for printing onto iron-on transfers: 8"x5" and 10"x8". I will give each size a test run, though I already think I like the larger one better. Recently, I was out one night with a couple of friends and the topic of Waterfire Providence came up. Naturally, I recalled that I've been trying to complete this design specifically for such an outing. I suggested that perhaps we could all go wearing matching T-shirts... once I had finalized my drawing, printed it, and ironed it on, that is. They thought it was a neat idea, and that I might get good results from advertising my business at the same time. If I find enough interest in my T-shirts, I'll get them printed professionally rather than using do-it-yourself iron-on kits. Now that my design is completed -- and my website updated -- I am going to go and notify my friends so I can get the right size T-shirts for each of us.
