Sunday 4-3-2011
And we’re off! Packed up the bikes and hit the road early. Drove to Joshua Tree National Park and found a nice campsite at the south end of the park. Went to a taqueria for lunch and picked up some pb&j at the supermercado. Back to the site for a great hike, using the trailhead that started right off of our campsite. Kevin saw a long-eared rabbit (hare?), we saw an old gold mining site/shaft and we were pleasantly surprised at the end of the hike by several huge palm trees in an oasis. Weather was great, in the 80's. Back at the camp site, we used the GoSkyWatch app on the IPad to map out the constellations. So very cool!
