2001 BMW 650 GS Dakar

After Kim's motorcycle lessons and a few attempts at riding the 1200, we decided she would need something smaller to ride. I began looking on the internet and eBay. I text messaged my friend Ryan (who has a 650, the size we thought would work for Kim) to see how much he paid for his. He notified me that he was thinking of selling his bike to get something bigger. Perfect. I would not have to pay to have a bike that I bought over internet, shipped here. Not a lot of BMW dual sports in chicago area , many more out west near mountains. I also had recently rode a test trip to Shawnee, Il with Ryan and his bike, so I knew the bike was sound. He had no issues on that trip. He had already purchased panniers which are not cheap and a nice addition for long trips and also protects bike seat and rear end from damage if it goes down.

So after the deal was done. I did the normal fluid change , and took off knobby tires and replaced with something a lot more pavement friendly.
