Flew to Juliaca from Lima, then drove to Puno. Crazy traffic (no right of way, adherence to lanes, lots of beeping!) in the city center, then passed through open fields with little mud houses and some farming. The picture with the rose colored flowers in the field is quinoa. Kevin was feeling the altitude a little, so we took a nap, then went into town. Great people watching, many in the typical Peruivan style ... Bright colored blankets on their backs to carry kids, big layered skirts, long black hair and little hats that seem to just sit on top of the women's heads. Only took a few pictures of people (didn't want to be rude), and there will be more to come tomorrow. I'm (Kim) feeling pretty good with knowing some Spanish and liking learning / remembering more.
