Bar Harbor

Another scenic ride this morning and not as chilly, we were actually able to start taking our liners out. Stopped to look at the suspension bridge which overlooks Fort Knox. Arrived at Acadia National Park! Stopped at the information center and took the scenic road along the Atlantic Ocean to our campsite at Blackwoods Campground. The ranger originally assigned us to B16 but we gotta pick our own site! After accessing each one, we ended up at a more secluded spot of B24. Setup camp, changed and took the free park shuttle bus into the town of Bar Harbor. Really didn't know that we'd be able to take in another cute town while at Acadia so it was a pleasant surprise. Walked around, looking in shops and restaurants and ended up at Stewman's on the water for drinks and an appetizer. It overlooked the outdoor pots for boiling lobsters. Walked down the street to Blaze for wood fired pizzas. We thought the bus ran until 9:15 so I stopped for some fudge. We ended up at the bus stop at 7:43 but the 7:45 bus had already left. We killed time (I bought a wool hat) until 8:30 when they told us that bus didn't go to our stop and the last one to the campground was 7:45. D'oh! Cabbed it back. Too tired for a fire so off to bed.
