Chutes Provincial Park

Forecast for a nice dry day today, phew. Breakfast at hotel, then continued riding on 17 the Trans-Canadian Highway (one lane, 90kph (about 57mph) and low traffic). We were aching for some Mexican food and after not finding any Mexican restaurants for the past two days in Canada, we stopped in Espanola, thinking that town HAD to have one, but nope, apparently there are no Mexican restaurants in all of Canada! Lunch at Tim Hortons (these places are everywhere, like our McD's but with donuts for breakfast and sandwiches for lunch) then onto Chutes Provincial Park. Sites had trees and were of the open boxie variety but there were only like 3 other people camping in all of the park. Went to check out the Twin Bridges Waterfalls, which were great! Easy walk along a river with several overlooks over the waterfalls. Also climbed down to a spot where we walked on the rocks and right up next to the rushing water. After that was a loop through the forest so we put on our botanist hats and got up close to some mushrooms and moss. Campfire, camp food & stars.

From wikipedia: "Chutes Provincial Park is a recreation class provincial park in Sables-Spanish Rivers, Ontario near the community of Massey, Ontario, Canada. The park is named after a logging chute that diverted logs around the waterfall on the Aux Sables River"
