"For it is in giving that we receive." – St. Francis of Assisi
Dear families and friends of Siena,
As the leaves change, we are reminded of God’s grace in all creation. This month, we celebrated the feast of St. Francis of Assisi, whose life of humility and care for others and the Lord inspires our community. In our schools, faith remains at the heart of everything we do. Whether it’s through daily prayer, classroom discussions, or service projects, we continue to nurture the spiritual growth of each student. Moreover, this October many of our schools are focusing on the Rosary, asking for guidance as we grow closer to Christ.
Along with our commitment to faith, we are proud of the academic and extracurricular achievements of our students. With the first quarter wrapping up, our staff remain dedicated to helping every student reach their fullest potential. From rigorous academics to vibrant extracurriculars, our students are thriving in sports, arts, and service activities. These opportunities enrich their education and build character. Thank you for your continued support as we journey together in faith and excellence this school year.
God bless,
Dr. Sue Savaglio-Jarvis
President, Siena Catholic Schools
P.S. As always, follow Siena on Facebook and get an inside view of our schools through "Dr. Sue's View." Videos are frequently uploaded that illustrate the best our schools have to offer.

Special thanks to Firefighter Caesar Hernandez for coming to St. Joe's and talking to our younger students about fire prevention!
Fr. Richter came to 4th grade at OLOGA, taught a math lesson, and taught the students the Cha Cha Slide. The kids loved it!
5K students worked in groups to compare the force needed to push an empty chair versus one with heavy objects, then drew the chair that required more force in their Science Logs.
4th graders enjoyed a special writing cafe atmosphere while completing their personal narratives by listening to relaxing music and enjoying hot chocolate and donuts donated by parents.
Marketing students at SCHS designed a visual merchandising display on the 1st floor with St. Cats gear. The display showcases goods from the online school store. Check it out!
The SCHS photography class went on several field trips to capture composition and portrait photos. Locations included Sam Myer Beach, Riverbend, the lighthouse, Petrifying Springs, downtown and the zoo.

On the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, Fr. Richter taught students at St. Sebastian about the rosary, and they prayed one decade of the rosary together. They were even gifted hand-made beaded rosaries!
In October, Siena Catholic Schools celebrated St. Cat's "Neon Glow Party" Homecoming. All six K-8 schools joined the excitement by creating themed posters, with over seventy submissions in the competition. Mailyn K from St. Joseph School was the overall winner. Great job artists!
The Angels Youth Softball Association (AYSA) hosted a thrilling wiffleball tournament on October 12th at Crawford Park, home of the St. Catherine's Angels Varsity Softball team. Teams from St. Rita, St. Lucy, OLOGA, and St. Joe competed for the coveted "Witching Wars Wiffleball Trophy", with students in grades 1-8 wearing spooky costumes. The event was filled with excitement, friendly competition, and community spirit. AYSA thanks all participants, volunteers, and spectators for making it a memorable day and looks forward to future events.
