Dear families and friends of Siena,
Happy Thanksgiving! It has been an incredibly busy time at our schools with everything from conferences to testing to the fall athletic season ending and the winter athletic season beginning. We all deserve this long break in order to recharge physically and emotionally. Enjoy this time!
As the weekend comes to a close, we begin the sacred season of Advent (Nov. 27 - Dec. 24). Our schools will all be participating in a number of service opportunities and food/clothing/toy drives to help spread the love and peace of Jesus during the weeks leading up to his birth. I invite you all to participate as you are able and encourage your students to remember "the reason for the season."
Blessings in Christ,
Brenda White
President, Siena
Welcome to our academics section! This fall we've transitioned to Standards Based Grading (SBG) at our 3K-8 school locations. All schools under the Archdiocese of Milwaukee are required to adopt SBG. Through this change, we've held four informational sessions for parents to learn and ask questions about our new scoring system. As our first standards based quarter one report cards rolled out a few weeks ago along with parent teacher conferences, we hope that our families had opportunities to meet individually with teachers to learn more about the changes and ask questions. Our teachers are working very hard through the transition and we all continue to learn. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate together through the process. If you continue to have questions, please feel free to reach out to your child's classroom teacher.
Did you know two Siena Schools offer a K3 program and that all five elementary schools offer a K4 class? K3 and K4 programs build confidence, increase faith formation, develop social skills, and provide a foundation for learning... and it's fun!
All-day daycare can average close to $800 per month. Full-time K3 and K4 is $436.11 a month for 9 months, and with our 12-month payment plan that lowers to $327.08 a month.
It might seem early to begin the enrollment process but with the small class sizes, now is the time to complete the Siena Catholic Schools Inquiry form.
The seventh-grade volleyball team from St. Joseph/John Paul II Academy was thrilled to be invited to another Marquette University volleyball game on October 22, 2022. The girls were able to be a part of the Golden Eagle introductions, enjoyed the sweep of St. Johns, and were able to get autographs and pictures at the conclusion of the match. Special thanks to Head Coach Ryan Theis for helping to make this happen!
At St. Rita's, Grade 5 and Grade 2 Buddies have joined forces recently to create Happy Thanksgiving Cards for our friends at St. Monica’s Assisted Living. We love to see the true spirit of the season thriving at St. Rita Catholic School!
What a great evening for students and family members to come together and celebrate reading! Thank you to Mrs. Koll, who was instrumental in organizing this space-themed event for over 135 people. In addition to guest readers such as Alderperson Marcus West, Admissions Coordinator Cintia Sanchez, and SCHS senior John Perugini, there were snacks, crafts, and free books!
St. Catherine's students interested in robotics are once again coming together as a club under the guidance of Mrs. Karen Matthews.
Check out one of the robotics fields that is being built in the SC Johnson STEM Lab.
