Dear families and friends of Siena,
Today is the Winter Solstice. The "shortest" day of the year (or seemingly longest if you dislike the 4 p.m. sunsets) traditionally calls for reflection, quiet, and rest. This should sound familiar as we are called to pray and prepare for the birth of Christ during the four weeks of Advent. December has brought so much cheer, which is evident in this month's photos: parties and cookies and pajamas!
Now we wait:
The angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For today in the city of David a savior has been born for you who is Messiah and Lord."
God bless,
Kimberly Gardner
Chief Advancement Officer, Siena
All Siena students, faculty, staff, and visitors are required to wear masks at this time. In the event that a positive case is reported, masks greatly diminish the need to quarantine, thus keeping students in school learning.
Families are required to supply clean masks to their students daily.

Here at OLOGA we've had a VERY busy December! We have our Advent prayer service, the celebration of Our Lady of Guadeloupe, our virtual Christmas concert, Chipotle night, the St. Nicholas Workshop, and more!
The St. Nicholas Workshop was a HUGE success! Our students got to purchase over 500 gifts for their parents and siblings. We cannot thank Jenny Hovan and her family enough for putting this wonderful opportunity together for our students. Together, the groups gather over 700 items that were donated to this wonderful cause. I know the students were VERY EXCITED that they truly were able to buy family members a Christmas gift that will be a surprise for them.
We wish you all a Merry Christmas!
3K and 4K exceeded the number of socks needed!
Grades 5 and 6 made over 200 Christmas Cards with a joyous personal message inside.
On Saturday, December 4, over 400 Siena families enjoyed an afternoon at Renaissance Movie Theater with a special viewing of How the Grinch Stole Christmas. It was exciting to see all the smiles and Christmas outfits! A big thanks to our volunteers Ella O., Tristan R., and Lexi S. for helping make the registration table run smoothly. Good times were had by all!
Consider purchasing e-gift cards through the SCRIP program. This is done online, and it is instant. You can create an account at the Shop with Scrip website.
Purchasing SCRIP e-gift cards provides a rebate back to your school and a rebate to you that can be used towards tuition, spirit wear orders, or student activity fees. Please contact your school secretary if you have any additional questions.
Catholic Financial Life is holding its annual Give Back Contest in honor of Catholic Schools Week, January 30 to February 5, 2022.
How It Works
Nominate a Catholic school teacher for their remarkable dedication to transforming the lives of their students. The submission deadline is January 7, 2022. Voting will take place from January 17-21 on Catholic Financial Life’s website. Catholic Financial Life will then convene a panel to determine the top three winners based on the number of votes, impact the teacher made, and additional stories that were shared.
The top three teachers will receive a $500 cash prize. Additionally, each winner’s school will also receive a $4,000 donation.
Teachers spend countless hours going above and beyond to ensure students succeed both inside and outside the classroom. Their everyday acts can often go unnoticed, but let’s shine a light on these unsung heroes!
Visit cfl.org/givebackcontest to nominate your favorite Catholic school teacher and for additional contest details.
