"And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth; we have beheld his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father." – John 1:14
Dear Siena Family and Friends,
As we approach the close of Advent and the joyous celebration of Christmas, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for your commitment to our Siena Catholic School community.
Throughout this Advent season, our students have engaged in prayer services, gift-making, and Christmas concerts, eagerly anticipating the upcoming festivities and a time of rest. It is truly uplifting to reflect on the meaningful activities that bring them closer to God. I am grateful for the many gifts and talents your child brings to our Siena community. The dedication and commitment of the Siena staff to provide a faith-forward education is commendable, and it is a blessing to witness their efforts in nurturing students' growth in academic excellence and faith.
Your belief and trust in Siena Catholic Schools greatly contributes to our mission, and we sincerely appreciate your support. Together, we can spread the joy and hope that this season embodies.
I pray that our community is filled with HOPE this Christmas, as we remember that Christ desires to draw near to our hearts.
Echoing the words of Pope Francis, “We are full of hope and trust as we realize that the Lord has been born for us; that the eternal Word of the Father, the infinite God, has made his home among us.” This good news is what inspires us to spread joy and excellence in faith, knowledge, and service.
Wishing you a warm and blessed Christmas season and a wonderful New Year filled with peace, joy, and love.
God Bless,
Dr. Sue
P.S. As always, follow Siena on Facebook and get an inside view of our schools through "Dr. Sue's View." Videos are frequently uploaded that illustrate the best our schools have to offer.
In addition to their weekly prayer services, the students at JPIIA have been doing Advent-themed crafts with their buddies.
Mrs. Ruediger, Ms. Carpenter and Mrs. Miller at St. Joe were feeling festive earlier this month!
The students of JPIIA's annual Christmas concert did such a great job with their songs!
Ms. Buerger's 5th grade class created their own ugly Chrstmas sweaters, and OLOGA staff voted for their favorites! The designs were categorized into "best effort," "most creative," and "best design."
1st graders at St. Seb used iPads to design their own ornament and 3D printed them. They are excited to give them as gifts for Christmas!
Students at OLOGA enjoyed a delightful shopping spree during their annual Holiday Sale. With an abundance of enticing items available, they enthusiastically searched for ideal gifts for their loved ones. Of course, indulging in something special for themselves added to the experience!
On December 13th, St. Lucy celebrated St. Lucy's feast day. Maddie T., and 8th grader dressed up as St. Lucy. The kindergarten classes sang a special song at the Mass. Students in 3K made unique St. Lucy ornaments.
Seven JPIIA fourth grade boys participated in Superheros of Kindness, a SEL workshop facilitated by John XXIII Educational Center. They learned about friendship, bullying and mindfulness in six lessons. Their culminating activity was making a sparkle jar to practice mindful breathing to calm their emotions.
Edson, a "Super Hero of Kindness", earned an incentive prize for 10 days of improved classroom behavior. He is standing with his teacher Ms. Henry
Sr. Roslyn from the Siena Center came to visit St. Joe earlier this month. She is pictured with two students who helped her after a fall last spring.
Attached is the flyer for our upcoming softball camps at SCHS. Proceeds go to Angels Youth Softball Association and 20% will be shared with the Okon family at St. Rita's who was one of our Little Angels.
