Extensions will only be given in certain circumstances, and cannot be given for exams. You may request one extension of 7 days per semester without the need to submit evidence. However, this must still be in line with University regulations on the acceptable reasons for granting an extension. You may request further extensions of 7 or 14 days, but these will require supporting evidence, as outlined on the University's Extension Procedure web page.
If you're not able to submit for your extended deadline, you'll be subject to any applicable late penalties. If you feel that you have extenuating circumstances that mean a late penalty should not apply, please follow the Extenuating Circumstances procedure.
To apply for an extension you should use the School of Psychology's Google form. This is not linked directly from this website, as we would like you to navigate to the University's Extension Procedure web page and read the information there first, please.
Whenever possible, all extension requests must be made at least 48 hours before the assignment deadline. You may request an extension up to the deadline for an assignment, but please be aware that if your request is received less than 48 hours before the deadline, you might not receive confirmation that the extension request has been granted before the deadline passes.
If you have a Learning Support Plan (LSP) in place that contains the advice to "take into account [student name]'s disability when considering coursework extension requests", or any similar wording, you must still complete the extension form and tick that you have an LSP. Please note that, even for students with an LSP in place, extensions are for sudden and unexpected needs, such as a fluctuation in a long-term condition. Students with additional needs will need to manage their workload using a variety of strategies as detailed in their LSP, and not rely solely on extensions to allow them to complete work.
